Swirls of contrasting paint color come together to dramatically represent the mighty movement of Lake Superior. This 16″ x 20″ oil painting is my rendition of the view from Marquette, Michigan’s Black Rocks. In the summer, locals and tourist jump off the rocks into the cool, clear water.

In the fall and winter, when the water churns and pounds, people are much more cautious.
